Hong Kong Immigration delegation to visit Australia and New Zealand to promote talent admission schemes
A delegation from the Hong Kong Immigration Department will visit New Zealand and Australia between April 29 and May 4 to promote various talent admission schemes to the second generation of emigrated Hong Kong residents, students, professionals and others who are interested in developing a career in Hong Kong.The visit programs in Auckland of New Zealand and Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney of Australia are arranged with the assistance of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Sydney.
Led by Assistant Principal Immigration Officer of the Hong Kong Immigration Department, Mr Choi Chi-yuen, the delegation will have gatherings with local Hong Kong community in Auckland and Sydney on details of the various talent admission schemes with particular reference to the Admission Scheme aimed at attracting the second generation of Chinese Hong Kong permanent residents from overseas to return to Hong Kong to supplement Hong Kong's human capital.
Talks will be arranged at University of Auckland (April 30) in Auckland, University of Queensland (May 1) in Brisbane, Monash University (May 2) and University of Melbourne (May 2) in Melbourne, and four universities (University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, Macquarie University and University of Technology Sydney) in Sydney (May 4) for the delegation to share with students the eligibility criteria and application procedures of the various admission schemes. For those who plan to study or work in Hong Kong, the sessions will be particularly useful for them to find out how this Asia’s world city is a prosperous place to develop their career.
There will also be gatherings with young professionals of Hong Kong – Australia Business Associations (HKABA) in Brisbane (May 1), Melbourne (May 2) and Sydney (May 3) on the attractive prospects for talent, professionals and entrepreneurs to work and invest in Hong Kong.
The delegation will give interviews to the media in these cities to enhance publicity on Hong Kong Government’s effort to attract talent.
